This August, there will once more be an intro week! 

As always, the Introduction Week is for all the new students who are going to study at the TU/e next year. In order to give those new students (kiddos) the week of their lives, we are looking for volunteers who will guide the activities on campus as smoothly as possible and to secure the safety of the participants and all the others who are around. 

The intro will take place from the August 18th till the 22nd. 

 

You can become a volunteer by filling in the form on this page. Don’t forget to denote when you are available. NOTE: This form is only for becoming a volunteer, to become an intro parent go to this link.

In order to give those new students (kiddos) the week of their lives, we are looking for students who will guide them through the week and show them how it is to study and live in Eindhoven. What is your job as a parent?
When you become an intro-parent, you’ll be assigned to a group of students who are going to study either Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology or the master AI&ES next year. This group has a size of +/- 8 new students plus you and your partner. It will be your job, together with your partner, to guide these new students through the introduction program. This involves for example:

Since this year, the master students will also get intro parents. You can indicate whether you prefer a bachelor or a master group in the form.
 
How do you become a parent?
Have you become super enthusiastic to be a parent for a group of new students? This year the CIC is doing the subscriptions for parents. You can sign up with this link.

Important remarks: 

 If you cannot be a parent but do want to help during the intro week you can subscribe here to be a volunteer. 

 Do you want to be an intro parent but can't find a co-parent? Then you can sign up to this list and find other people who need a co-parent! Then together you can sign up on the central form.

Submissions will only be visible to the Thor Board and Intro Committee. We will contact the solo parents. 

A group of 30 students and 2 supervisors from the Electrical Engineering faculty will go on a 4-week study trip in the summer of 2025. From July 6th to August 4th, we will visit both Taiwan and South Korea.

During our study trip, we will visit companies such as TSMC, Samsung, and ASML. We will also take part in various fun activities, including cultural visits, hiking, river tracing and much more!

Currently, we have our 30 participants. This backup list is for potential replacements in case a student has to drop out of the trip.

Note: First-year students are not allowed to participate in this study trip.

On the 15th of May, the newest edition of PartEE, PartEE with ME, is happening! If you're interested in helping out with for example scanning tickets, fill in the subscription list below. You will be compensated with... a beercard! (which of course does still work, no worries)

The time has come, we have began the search for a new Board! Have you wanted to learn skills beyond just your study, meet people to help you in the future, experience a year full of excitement, or even expand your knowledge on what happens behind the scenes at the university? Then we are looking for you! 

During this lunch, you will learn all the information on completing a Board year at Thor, including the different functions you can do and all the skills you learn with them. On top of that, you will also receive information on completing a Board year at the Master’s associations, Wervingsdagen and the FSE! 

If you’ve ever wondered what a Board year could look like, or, you’ve already made up your mind and just want to enjoy free lunch then join the Board interest lunch during the break on Thursday the 14th of February! 

This Thursday the 27th of February, Thor will be throwing the incredible carnaval party! For everyone to have a lot of fun throughout the party, we want to give everyone the opportunity to have some food! 

As the party will last until 20:00, we will order pizza from Domino's. Costs will very if more people order pizza, but the cost will range between €6.50 and €9.00. The pizza will arrive at 16:00!

We're gonna get some food from Hizmet before the GMM.

Reisco – The Intercontinental Travel Committee – is organizing an exciting trip for the summer of 2025!
We will be traveling outside of Europe. (The location will be revealed later)
 The cost for the trip will be all-inclusive, covering food, flights, and accommodation, with a total estimated price of €2750 excluding deposit.
We are also offering business cases, which are work assignments taking place in Q3 and/or Q4 of this year. These will involve collaborating with a group within the department. Upon completing a business case, you’ll receive a €1000 discount, reducing the total trip cost to approximately €1750 excluding deposit.
Please note that we will have 23 participants on this trip, excluding Reisco members and two supervisors from the department. There will be 15 business cases available, but assignment of a business case is not guaranteed, so please plan for the full trip cost.
This year, we are introducing a deposit system, meaning everyone, regardless of business case involvement, will need to pay a deposit.
An information night will be held soon, after which you can sign up for the participant list. From this list, 23 people will be randomly selected to join the trip.
Important Notes:
• First-year students are not eligible for this trip, as the business cases require more advanced knowledge.
• All prices are estimates and may still change.
• This sign-up is for the interest list. Your position on this list has no influence on the final participant selection.
• Completing a business case is roughly equivalent to 5 ECTS worth of work. If assigned one, participation is mandatory, so ensure it fits your schedule.

This is the subscription list to purchase a custom pulletje for OkThorberfest 2024, the pulletjes are  € 13 with this year's OkThorberfest Logo.

There is a separate subscription list to purchase tickets for the food and beer at the OkThoberfest, you can find it through: https://thor.edu/activities/okthorberfest. Ticket for food is only  € 3.00 and ticket for food and beer is € 6.00.

Do you want to help build an incredible party during the intro? Thor is organizing a party on Tuesday evening on the 20th of August. For this we will need a lot of volunteers to build the party, do the age checks, bars and food during the party.
