TNO Lunch Lecture

TNO is the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research, one of Europe's leading independent research organisations. With expertise spanning defence and safety, energy transition, health, digitalisation, and industrial innovation, TNO bridges the gap between fundamental science and real-world application. Their work doesn't stop at the lab bench; it ends up in products, policies, and systems that shape society.

TNO employs over 3500 researchers, engineers, and specialists across the Netherlands, working on everything from next-generation semiconductor technology and smart grids to autonomous systems and cybersecurity. They collaborate closely with industry, government, and knowledge institutions, including TU/e, making them a key player in the Brainport Eindhoven ecosystem.
Whether you're interested in applied research, engineering challenges with genuine societal impact, or a career that sits at the intersection of science and industry, TNO is one of the most versatile and impactful organisations you can work with.

Lunch and drinks will be provided during the lecture.

IEEE x Volundr - PCB workshop

PCBs are the backbone of a large part of both consumer and professional electronics, and as an electrical engineer, you’ll encounter them constantly. You’ll likely be expected to design some yourself, so getting comfortable with this essential part of circuit design is incredibly valuable.

IEEE SBE and Volundr are hosting a workshop together designed to take you from wherever you are with your PCB knowledge and experience and bring you to the next level. This session is open to anyone looking to grow their skills, so if you see any value in getting better at PCB design. you’re more than welcome to join! The software we'll be using is the latest version of KiCAD.

Entering the workshop is completely free. At the end of the workshop, you'll can send in your design and we'll order it for a small fee of €2,-.

Medieval Drink

During the switch it was promised that Thor would host a Medieval drink where the lovely card game known as Kingsen would be played at a roundtable and who are we to deny the people of what they are owed. We will be playing and explaining the game at the round table so join the CO and enjoy the games. Make sure to come by in your most medieval appropiate outfit for maximum immersion. Additionately, we will also server the classic drink of the time Mead being a honey wine made by mixing honey and water.

Fun fact, in norse mythology it was said that that Kvasir, the wisest of all humans, was invited to the home of two dwarves named Fjalar and Galar. Who decided to kill him and take his blood to make mead with. This mead became known as the Mead of Poetry which would give anyone who drank the wisdom that possesed Kvasir. There is only one way to find out if this will happen to you too so make sure to come by the Walhalla!
